Language Schools

So, if you want to learn Japanese in Japan, then you can visit a language school either in Kanazawa or in Tokyo, and there are many more.  Not all language schools are the same, and it is important that you opt for a reputed school.  There are several types of programs available in the schools, and you should choose your program accordingly.

Kanazawa

In Kanazawa, for example, the Japanese language school is located in the International Exchange Center.  It has students from all over the world and has all the students’ facilities. The minimum age of the student is 18 and the course consists of 20 Japanese language classes.  There are several activities for the students and all lessons are conducted only in Japanese.

This method of teaching only in one language is the best way to learn Japanese in Japan.  Several levels of the language are offered and the courses run throughout the year. You can also take optional courses or private Japanese lessons. In this way you are going to learn Japanese in Japan and at the same time you will learn fast and efficiently. 

It is advisable to live with a host family as this is the most significant part of the program to learn Japanese in Japan.  You can practice what you have learned in class and experience the Japanese culture.  It gives you the opportunity to get a glimpse in the life of a Japanese.

Tokyo

There are many other similar centers in Japan, which will give you the opportunity to learn Japanese in Japan.  The Japanese school in Tokyo offers a similar program as mentioned above, and the various activities are included as well. Most of these schools are multicultural and the maximum number of students in each language class is fifteen. Tokyo is like any other big city in the world, and hence the culture there is different from what the students can experience in the smaller towns, where the people are more conservative.

University Programs

For students who want to pursue a university program, there are four options available to learn Japanese in Japan. There are two kinds of University Exchange programs; there is a full time language study program and a part time language study program.  In the first two programs, there is very little Japanese taught, because the University program is in English.  Hence the best way to learn Japanese in Japan is to inculcate the full time language study program.  There is more emphasis on reading and writing and less on speaking, as all students from here are going to University to study in Japanese.

The last option is for people who want to learn Japanese in Japan so that they can speak the language well, communicate with the people and can mingle with the inhabitants of the country. A lot of emphasis is on speaking and there is little writing and serious reading done.  But this has programs which are offered part time and you can work or study and still attend the classes.
